Literary Quarter

Photo by Yulia Svatkovskaya @ IMS

At first sight, it is just a park with a few museums dedicated to writers from the Urals.

However, not every city can boast a preserve park of such historic and cultural value.

It’s an intimate and quiet corner, hidden within a park, at the very heart of the city.

There you’ll find a statue of Pushkin and the house-museum of Fyodor Reshetnikov, a Ural writer. Stroll across the Literary Quarter, to enjoy the atmosphere of the old Ekaterinburg, with its old-fashioned street lamps and fences that are made of cast-iron.

In the summer months, there is an open-air cafe that plays chill-out music and there’s a small amphitheater where outdoor events are held. In summer, the park is open from 7am to 10pm daily.

Directions: The Literary Quarter is between The Church on the Blood and the city pond.
Subway/Metro: Dinamo (“Динамо”).
